Smith & Tzannes were engaged by the Department of Planning to assist in the publication of the Rural Housing Code User guide. Mel and Peter worked with the Codes team in the Department and our fantastic editor - Janet Neustein from Editorial Resources.
The rules and requirements to qualify for a 10-day approval under the Rural Housing Code are outlined in a new user guide published by the Department of Planning. The Code commenced in February 2011 and sets development standards which help reduce the time and cost associated with building a house in rural zones in NSW. It allows applicants who meet specific planning and design standards to apply for a 10-day approval as complying development.
