With more than fifteen years post-graduate experience in architectural practice in Australia and the UK, Penelope has participated in design, design development, and documentation of individual houses, commercial, industrial, housing, public, urban design and heritage projects. At Smith & Tzannes, Penelope has been involved in projects at all scales from housing through to urban and public projects. She managed the contract administration phase of the Leichhardt Oval Stage 2 and stage 3 works, and has substantial experience working with Council clients.

Penelope has developed an expertise in sustainable construction materials, with industry experience in an eco-building centre in London 2003-05 (construction materials - product support and training). In the UK, Penelope presented sustainable construction seminars to a broad cross section of construction industry participants including architects, developers, building contractors, engineers and council staff.

Penelope also has an interest in education and has worked as a tutor in the Architectural design programme at the University of Sydney and tutored and lectured in the Environmental Design courses within the Architecture programme at the University of Technology, Sydney.
